Experimental Cyanotypes.
Using this method of production, with the outcome being relatively random, creates totally unique results and an unpredictable process which can be just as fascinating as the end result.
The majority of these cyanotypes are unwashed adding to the possibility that these works will continue to develop and change over time.
Cyanotype Photograms
A technique used and developed by Anna Atkins during the 1840’s resulting in the publication of the first book containing photographs.
Created by placing objects on cyanotype paper resulting in a unique image.
Once developed these images can be toned with variety of harmless substances.
Macro Images of the Cyanotype Process
During the experimental cyanotypes process a variety of interesting — sometimes transient — images may be produced in their own right. These are not always easily visible, but can be captured using macro photography.
Below are a series of such images, some of which have been altered and enhanced digitally.
